Dinosaur Flannel -Flannel Friday

Knock, knock, knocking on my door (knock on flannel board as kids knock on floor)
In walks a size color dinosaur

(Ex. In walks a little purple dinosaur)

This flannel was really simple, but the kids loved it!  It made them stop and think for a second too because they were eager to shout out the color, but had to stop and also think about the size.

Dinosaurs! Pre-K and Family Storytime

Yup, still digging into reading.... but it's slowly winding down.  This week we dug up some dinosaurs in Pre-K and Family Storytime.

Books:

Bones, Bones, Dinosaur Bones by Byron Barton. A cast of characters looks for, finds, and assembles some dinosaur bones.

Dinosaur Zoom! by Penny Dale. Dinosaurs of all colors drive all types of vehicles to get to a surprise location. *Extension activities below*

How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night? by Jane Yolen. Dinosaurs, like young children, may slam their tails and pout at bedtime, but they give hugs and kisses too!

Dancing with the Dinosaurs by Jane Clark.  This was a close runner up!

Pre-K April 19, 2012 Dinosaurs!

We had 46 children in attendance and they were awesome!  They were throwing dinosaur facts and names at me that I didn't even know!

Books ( I didn't read the latter two, but they were close contestants):

Bones, Bones, Dinosaur Bones by Byron Barton.  A team of scientists look for, transport, and assemble bones for a museum. 

How Do Dinosaurs Say I Love You? by Jane Yolen. Dinosaurs, like children, misbehave but they love us and we love them!

(Imagine my surprise when I was also informed that Torosaurus and Pterodactyl start with a T...As I write this blog, I think I stand corrected on the spelling of these flying dinos)
