I ordered them and they're claiming they won't get there till Valentine's Day, but they're usually much quicker than that. If not, you could always tuck them away till next year. The Library Ladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14321601076252214546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6674204149563700585.post-69475197901861483512013-01-29T16:57:57.113-08:002013-01-29T16:57:57.113-08:00Hugs and Kisses by Loupy is a great book...of cour...Hugs and Kisses by Loupy is a great book...of course Kay uses it!! Or maybe put several baskets around the room filled with stickers? Or stand outside the programming room to hand them out after storytime... if everyone kind of packs up and leaves at their own pace it should stagger the group.

Your groups may be bigger than mine, but mine are still pretty big (45ish toddlers, 40ish Pre-K kids) and I usually will have somebody help me hand out items even if it's a parent.Miss Tarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14581335376740818698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6674204149563700585.post-46136032485576046752013-01-27T05:49:30.007-08:002013-01-27T05:49:30.007-08:00Katie, you might be surprised at how well a large ...Katie, you might be surprised at how well a large group will do when waiting for their turn for something like a kiss sticker. Or you could pass a kiss sticker out to the parents at arrival time, ask them to keep it a secret until time to use it, and then have each parent " kiss" their own child with a sticker. :o)

Just an idea for you. I love to brainstorm ways to make ideas work for large and small groups. Sometimes it works ~ sometimes it doesn't! *shrug*Storytime Funhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04347160565583263163noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6674204149563700585.post-58096987491537097952013-01-26T19:16:52.910-08:002013-01-26T19:16:52.910-08:00I love how you've adapted this! It is Hugs and Kisses by Christophe Loupy. It is about a puppy named Hugs who goes out one morning while his family is asleep and searches for "something special". He receives kisses in different places like his neck, nose, etc, from different animals on the farm. Fun!

We have done this book as a live-action presentation with puppets at our Old-Fashioned Valentine's Party. We re-wrote it so that it is the King of Hearts looking for "something special" for the Queen. We put kiss stickers on the King when each animal kisses him (as the book describes) so he is covered with kisses by the end. LOL!

Now, I'll have to make sure to have enough stickers to kiss each child! Won't that be fun?

Thank you so much for sharing this new, creative idea. You have inspired me! Hugs and Kisses to you! ***muah***

~ K ~Storytime Funhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04347160565583263163noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6674204149563700585.post-316693639723035462013-01-26T09:42:14.239-08:002013-01-26T09:42:14.239-08:00I LOVE this idea!!!
